On April 23rd 2022, in Egypt I was injured as a result of a boat propeller accident. The propeller of the boat cut all my blood vessels and nerve channels in two places on my left arm. Between these two cuts, muscles were torn out and the anatomical structure of the arm was completely disrupted. In addition to the lost arm, the boat broke three ribs, damaged my lung and caused 9 deep cuts on my left leg with a propeller. The problem was that the place where we were was very far from the nearest hospital, there is no helicopter service there, and I was on the operating table only after 7 hours. Ischemia time was too high and extensive necrosis began in the arm. The arm had to be amputated. It was completely amputated. Only the shoulder joint and about 7-8 centimeters of the numerus remained. Ribs, leg and lung after six months have healed well enough and do not cause me much anxiety.

In 2017 after ski accident I had a severe intra-articular fracture at the elbow of my right arm. This fracture healed very well with a series of osteosynthesis surgeries, and around 2 years of physical therapy, so that the function of the hand was almost completely restored. There is only a limit of about 10 degrees (10 degrees less than the norm) for bending the elbow, which did not bother at all with two hands, but began to cause discomfort when only the right hand remained. And I’m left-handed, and I only have my right hand. In my case, I hope that transplanted hand should be better than any solution with a myoelectric prosthesis
