an operation to remove a damaged eye and replace it with healthy donor tissue. Whole eye transplantation (WET) provides the opportunity to replace surrounding facial tissue, diseased retinal ganglion cells and optical system . Recent success in face transplantation demonstrates that this may be a promising treatment for what has been to this time an incurable condition. (c)
